Onesided Inverses for Semigroups

چکیده

In any semigroup S, we say that elements a and b are left inverses of each other if a = aba, b = bab and a L b, in which case we write a γ b. Right inverses are defined dually with the notation δ. Set τ = δγ. We study the classes of semigroups in which τ has some of the usual properties of a relation. We also consider properties of (maximal) completely simple subsemigroups of S. In terms of the above concepts, we characterize E–solid, central, (almost) L–unipotent and locally (almost) L–unipotent semigroups in many ways. We define these notions for arbitrary semigroups by extending their definitions from regular semigroups.

Fractional intertwinings between two Markov semigroups

We define the notion of α-intertwining between two Markov Feller semigroups on R+ and we give some examples. The 1-intertwining, in particular, is merely the intertwining via the first derivative operator. It can be used in the study of the existence of pseudo-inverses, a notion recently introduced by Madan-Roynette-Yor [12] and RoynetteYor [15].

A Scoop from Groups: Equational Foundations for Loops

Groups are usually axiomatized as algebras with an associative binary operation, a two-sided neutral element, and with two-sided inverses. We show in this note that the same simplicity of axioms can be achieved for some of the most important varieties of loops. In particular, we investigate loops of Bol-Moufang type in the underlying variety of magmas with two-sided inverses, and obtain “group-...

Semihyperbolic Transcendental Semigroups

This paper deals with semihyperbolic semigroups which are generated by entire (possibly transcendental) functions. In particular, a criterion is given assuring that a given entire semigroup is semihyperbolic. Note that a semihyperbolic semigroup G admit holomorphic scaling, that is to say, the branches of local inverses of functions f 2 G are of bounded degree and that the preimages shrink to z...

On generalized inverses and Green’s relations

We study generalized inverses on semigroups by means of Green’s relations. We first define the notion of inverse along an element and study its properties. Then we show that the classical generalized inverses (group inverse, Drazin inverse and Moore-Penrose inverse) belong to this class. There exist many specific generalized inverses in the literature, such as the group inverse, the Moore-Penro...
